How to develop your own Online business for FREE/low costIt's one of my goals for this site to show people one of the great advantages of the modern internet. Many people complain that the internet has become too commercialized. Everybody has heard of the huge corporate site like Amazon.com, Pets.com, etc. You have probably thought to yourself "hey, there's money to be made out there - too bad I can't afford to open a store online too!" Well, the very commericalization that so many people complain about is the very same thing that forms the greatest opportunity for the small and would-be internet entrapeneur. All of these business online need to advertise. The internet is best evisioned as a great desert. A huge wasteland of information and space. If you want someone to find YOUR website out of the literally millions out there, you need to tell them just what corner of this desert you're in. You can build it, but that doesn't mean they'll come. Now, that's where the free and low cost opportunities exist for the would-be internet entrpeneur. Many people have created free services that the will gladly give you - in exchange for advertising. Look at the top of this page. See the strip at the top that has umpteen links to Xoom.com items? That's because you are currently looking at a web site that was created for free! This concept exists in many of the forums that an online business person needs, such as autoresponders, web space, classified advertising - even internet access! The trick is to do the research, compare the offers, and see what is going to give you the biggest bang for you (lack of a) buck. And THAT, as I stated above, is the real purpose of this website. I have gone through this myself, in developing an e-commerce site for the store where I work. As happens in most small businesses, the boss came to me and said "we need to be on the internet like everyone else. You are the most computer literate person here, so its up to you. Oh yeah, and don't spend anything you don't absolutely have to!" That forced me to do the research and testing that has enabled me to build this site.
